Lemon Balm >>
Lemon Balm or Melissa was one of the first herbs ever to sweep me into a state of swoon. One smell of the fragrant leaves had me harvesting and baking almost six years ago and now is a plant I couldn’t live without in our garden space. This plant is great for SO many things but she is best used for its cooling and calming affects which is why she is great not only for anxiety and depression, but also for cold sores and heart burn for dampening an overactive heat in the system.
Passionflower >>
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this exotic beauty growing wild on the side of the road in Louisiana. Passionflower is nervine directly calming the whole nervous system. When taken alone, it is great to aid in falling asleep. In this case, she is great at turning down the intensity of any overactive nervous system.
Mimosa Flower >>
Also known as the happiness flower in Chinese Medicine, rightly receiving her name for its known ability to enhance the mood, being about states of happiness and cheer. This flower I worked with directly when I needed support during Post-Partum Blues recovery, and still a favorite for supporting mood enhancement and depression in general.
